"Waiting On" Wednesday: The Deepest Secret

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

The Deepest Secret

By Carla Buckley
Publication Date: February 4

From Amazon:

Eve Lattimore’s family is like every other on their suburban street, with one exception. Her son Tyler has a rare medical condition that makes him fatally sensitive to light, which means heavy curtains and deadlocked doors protect him during the day and he can never leave the house except at night. For Eve, only constant vigilance stands between an increasingly restless teenage son and the dangers of the outside world.

Until the night the unthinkable happens. When tragedy strikes, it becomes clear that this family is not the only one on the quiet cul-de-sac that is more complicated than it appears. And as Eve is forced to shield her family from harm, there are some crises she cannot control—and some secrets that not even love can conceal.

This sounds really intense. I would think that there are probably some tear-jerking moments in this one. My parents have some friends whose grandson can't feel pain and he's just a toddler. It's crazy what they have to do to protect him! Thanks for sharing!

Ooh that sounds good, and I like the cover too. Kind of a different premise too, the sensitivity to light. Hope it's good!

The Deepest Secret sounds thrilling. I think it would be really interesting to read about someone with a sensitivity to light that strong. Now I am curious to find out the other odd things going on in that neighborhood.

This week I am waiting on All the Truth That's In Me by Julie Berry.
